The Design Professionals Coalition (DPC) is a national organization created in 1983 to represent the governmental affairs and business interests of larger A-E firms. Its membership includes the nation's leading engineering, architectural, surveying and mapping firms. Member companies are multi-disciplined, multi-practice firms with both domestic and international practices, and employ alternative project delivery as well as design-bid-build approaches.
DPC harnesses the combined resources and capabilities of leading firms for dealing with critical political and public policy issues as well as providing a peer group forum for networking, discussion, and exploration of business issues of interest to Senior Principals.
Protecting the opportunity for A-E firms of all sizes to compete for Government contracts was the original reason for DPC's creation and remains our core objective.
DPC is at the forefront of multi-year efforts on multiple issues that challenge A-E firms -- not just with words but with financial support -- to bring in the best experts to fight proposals that are not in the best interests of A-E firms. It also employs timely alerts, which enable member firms’ branch offices and their Washington representatives to act in combination with the Coalition’s Washington-based legal and lobbying capabilities.
Semi-annual DPC membership meetings afford excellent opportunities for Senior Principals to network and exchange information and ideas in addition to dealing with policy concerns.
