The Design Professionals Coalition (DPC) was initiated in 1983 as an informal group of Senior Principals, working to address procurement issues that would have precluded leading A/E firms from competing for Federal contracts (exclusionary Small Business set-asides).  The Design Professionals later became the first ACEC Coalition. The Coalition elects officers and an Executive Committee annually. Senior Principals represent member firms.

DPC spends virtually all of its member-contributed resources on extensive use of outside legal and other assistance to augment members' own abilities to impact the policy-making processes in Congress and the Executive Branch.
